Health minister and Congress candidate for Kadapa Lok Sabha seat in the by-elections D.L Ravindra Reddy alleged that his rival and YSR Congress Party president Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy had made a false declaration before the Election Commission.
DL told the media that Jagan palatial bungalow on the outskirts of Bangalore itself costs Rs 400 crore. “How can he claim that the total value of his assets is Rs 365 crore, when his single bungalow costs Rs 400 crore? And what about his bungalows in Hyderabad and elsewhere?” he wondered.
The minister also demanded that Jagan should explain how his assets had grown from mere Rs 9.18 lakh in 2004 to over Rs 365 crore in 2011, assuming that the figure furnished by him is correct. “These elections are a battle between integrity and corruption. If Jagan can amass so much wealth in a span of six years, one can imagine how much he can make if he comes to power. He will sell off the entire state,” DLR alleged.
