Tagged as Mr. Perfectionist of the tinsel town, the 'Taare Zaamen Par' actor Aamir Khan is leaving no opportunities in supporting campaigns for the welfare of the country.
Presently, the actor, through a letter to the Indian social activist Anna Hazare, lent support to fight against corruption.
On April 5, 2011, Anna Hazare had started a “fast unto death” movement to urge the government to enforce a stringent law against corruption and get it enforced in the Jan Lokpal Bill.
Excerpts of the letter
Appreciating the crusade set up by the 71-year-old Hazare, Aamir Khan wrote, “Like the country has supported the Indian cricket team in their struggle to win the World Cup, I hope and pray that your struggle, which is infinitely more important and affects each and every one of us, will get an even greater support.
"I am amongst the thousands who are fully supportive of your efforts. The crusade that you have begun is an extremely important one, and I would like to extend my support to you.
"You are an inspiration for the youth of this country."
Anupam Kher supports Anna Hazare
Bollywood actor Anupam Kher also came in support for Anna Hazare anti-corruption movement and even said that “after Mahatma Gandhi he was the only person in the country who could say with pride 'my life is my message'.”
Comparing the government with villains in the Bollywood films, Anupam said he was stunned that there were no fulfillment of demands by the government.
He said, “As a responsible citizen of this country it is important to get out of our comfort zone and support Anna Hazare campaign against corruption and I pledge my support and expect my colleagues to do the same.”
Besides Aamir and Anupam, some of the stars who supported the campaign are Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Madhur Bhandarkar and Vivek Oberoi.
