Bollywood cute heartthrob Genelia is gunning for an image makeover. In Santosh Sivan’s hyped upcoming period epic, Urumi , Genelia will be seen playing the role of a warrior.
Reportedly, Sivan has sent her for special lessons in martial arts, horse riding and rowing so that she can easily get into the skin of the role.
“The film will see Genelia play a Portuguese warrior, who loves an Indian rebel, reprised by Malayalam actor Prithviraj,” a source said.
Urumi, to be released in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi, has already generated a buzz for a scorching item number picturised on Tabu and Vidya Balan. The film also has a cameo role by Prabhu Deva.
The setting of the film is 15th century Kerala, and the film narrates the story of the local rebellion against Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama.
