Filmmaker Praksha Mehra who passed away on Sunday morning was cremated at the Oshiwara crematorium in suburban Mumbai on Monday afternoon. Among the Bollywood stars who were present during the rituals were Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan. They moved into tears while bidding last adieu to the ace filmmaker who made Amitabh Bachchan the superstar of Bollywood.
Prakash Mehra was admitted in hospital for long and Big B visited him at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital. Prakash Mehra gave Amitabh his first hit ‘Zanjeer’ and after that he never looked back. Their combination succeeded in delivering hit after hit. Mehra gave Big B the much popular ‘Angry Man Image’. “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”, “Sharabi”, “Laawaris” and “Namak Halal” were their hit combination. Only their last flick ‘Jadugaar’ doomed.
Other personalities who paid homage to the departed soul are Yash Chopra, Sanjay Khan, Ramesh Sippy, Harry Baweja, Salim Khan, Ranjit, Tinu Anand, Bharat Shah, Bappi Lahiri, Madhur Bhandarkar.
The jewel filmmaker left behind his three sons – Sumeet, Amit and Puneet.
